Red Blackmails Deacon!

A Christmas Present from Malcolm

Mr. Brook's woke up this morning to a ring at the door! Strangely, no one was there, but a package was left. I noticed a car drive off with a woman inside.
I wonder who that was?
When I opened the box, I found a new coffee maker! A Cuisinart grind and brew all in one. How great! Who would have done such a nice thing for Mr Brook's?

So, now I am waiting for my coffee to be done.
Okay let's see if today's show has anything interesting in it.
Dubai, rhymes with goodbye and that is fine with me...see you Vikki have that baby and stay away as long as you want.
Chloe is on today which is not so bad, she has a way of bitching that is watchable. Billy in jail...this revolving jail stuff gets repetitive. I do not think the viewers care for it much. i am listening to a CD that also came in the mysterious package.
It is a smooth jazz.
Chloe makes a move that gets Billy out of jail and spying Chance sees that Chloe's feelings for Billy are alive and well in her tiny body.

The happy Ashby's are all a glee with joy, which is repulsive to me. If they were in the mall, I would cross to the other side. I am hoping for a space rock to hit Cane on the head or better yet a cattle mafia convention in Genoa City. They buy gifts today... you know it will be stuffed cows for baby Sardou or extra sweet pills to spike the viewers coffee. Cane seems to eat ecstasy pills like skittles these days.
If Cane was trying for happy zombie, he has nailed it!

Now that Mack is rumored to miscarry the baby, will she sleep with Malcolm to get pregnant again?.... to keep Lily from spiraling down the cancer rope to her grave?
Hang on Lily daddy is coming home soon.

Tuesday's Y&R

Billy defends his stance, Patty has a breakthrough, and Victoria makes a decision about her marriage!

At the Club, Lily tells Cane it was good to work out and be active again. He says her glow comes from something else. She smiles, and says they've got the best Christmas present ever - being pregnant! Cane tells Lily that he was going to go get her Christmas present today. Lily laughs and says she was going to go get his too. She adds that they don't want to forget Mac - she's doing something very special for them!

Mac visits Billy in jail. They discuss his situation - he's confident the judge can't keep him there too long. Mac says she comes with news - she's pregnant. Billy is irritated by this, and things turn edgy. Mac informs him that this matters to her, and whether he'll admit it or not - it matters to him too.

At the Chancellor Estate, Chloe explains to Chance that Billy could be let go from jail if someone anonymously came forward and revealed the source. She says she was there when the source contacted Billy, but does not know what to do. Chance tells her he can't give her advice, and Chloe muses that perhaps she doesn't have to be in this position!

Chloe shows up at the jail and Billy asks what she's doing there. She confronts him about what he's doing. He protests that he's finally doing something for the right reasons and no one's on his side. Chloe tells him no one likes a martyr and insists that it's time he reveals his source and gets out of there! Billy tells Chloe he's prepared to wait for Rafe to get him out. He thinks Delia will be proud if she ever hears about this. Chloe rolls her eyes and says she'll love that he has a record. Billy comments that he's no Tony Soprano. Chloe presses him, pointing out that he's choosing tabloid trash over Delia - he could be in there over Christmas! Billy sighs, and says he hopes to be out by then. After Chloe leaves, Billy finds out that Daniel will be getting out on bail. He pulls out a photo of Delia and tells her not to worry - Daddy will be home soon. Just then, he gets a new, tattooed 'roommate'.

Chloe goes back home and tells Chance with frustration that Billy doesn't even seem to care that he might miss Christmas with his little girl. Chloe waits until she's alone in the room and then makes a call, saying she has information about the person Billy Abbott is trying to protect! Chance wanders back in and listens.

Jack meets Emily at the Club and he asks her to spend Christmas with him. She says she would love to, noting that she also has time right now. They lament that their busy workloads have kept them apart. Jack tells her his investment deal didn't go through. They sit down and discuss Tucker and his investment in Chancellor. Jack notes that he didn't buy a quarter of the business to sit in a corner. Emily reassures Jack that Kay will still listen to his input. Talk turns to Patty, and Emily admits she has been hoping for more of a breakthrough - acknowledgment of what she's done, and remorse. She thinks it may be time to turn Patty over to another doctor.

At his office, Tucker tells JT that the deal went ahead and word is spreading like wildfire! He notices JT is uptight and asks if everything is alright. JT explains that he wishes he had been able to tell his wife about the IPO before she found out from someone else. Tucker thanks him for keeping his confidence.

Ashley and Adam are at Crimson Lights. She fills him in on the deal that she almost got in on - saying there was an IPO at Chancellor, but Katherine opted to sell all 25% to Tucker McCall. Adam muses that Tucker is a legend in the business world. Ash leaves, and Adam spots Victoria. He mentions the Chancellor IPO to her, and she is stunned to hear that Tucker bought the shares - JT didn't say anything about it to her!

Nick, in his office at Newman, has left a message with his sister for her to meet him. Victoria comes in with Adam on her heels and asks Nick if it's true about the IPO going to Tucker McCall. Nick confirms it, saying he thought JT would have told her. Vikki fumes that he must have known for a while, but didn't say a word! Adam goads her, and Nick orders him out of the office. Victoria realizes she has a bunch of messages on her phone from JT, but she's livid, and says he's doing this to punish her - she plans to let him stew for awhile! Nick points out that's how they got to this place - avoidance. Vikki says she doesn't trust him. Nick says she sounds like the marriage is over. He tells her that no matter how hard it is, she should do what is best for her and her son.

In her room, Patty takes her medications and then reads a newspaper article about her return to Genoa City. It's one part of a series - she wonders what else she did! Emily comes in to check on her, and Patty starts talking about Jack. She goes on about how busy he is, and how many social obligations she has - they need to spend more time together. Emily breaks the news that Patty may need another therapist - she's not helping her. Patty is horrified, and admits to Emily that she does understand why she's there - she took that girl! Patty says it was wrong, then asks where Jack is - she misses her husband! Emily lets herself out, and Patty smiles and muses that Emily is so pretty - she's really glad she decided to look like her!

Ashley meets with Jack at the Club. He laments the loss of opportunity to buy into Chancellor. She says in light of all that's happened to their family, it's not really a big deal. They discuss Billy, the fact that Ashley is a single mom, and the death of Colleen - Ashley doesn't feel it's appropriate for Jack to be so focused on Jabot. She tells him it's time to stop trying to recreate the heyday of Jabot - he only winds up disliking himself when it doesn't work out. Ash tells Jack that his relationship with Emily looks like it could be a new beginning. She tries to impress on him that family and happiness is more important than business. Emily comes back and tells Jack that Patty has had a breakthrough.

Mac runs into JT at Crimson Lights. He is still waiting to hear back from Victoria, and Mac mentions that she just visited Billy in jail. JT smirks, and Mac then informs him that she is pregnant. JT congratulates her, and says it's a great sign that she conceived right away. Lily and Cane come in and act cheerful. Mac's mood is a contrast, and JT explains to them that she just visited Billy. They agree he's a pompous fool. Lily bought some gifts for the kids at the shelter and Mac is thrilled. Lily and Cane head out to drop them off. Mac notes it's like they're shopping for their own child - she hopes all goes well! She then asks JT if he wants to talk about what is going on with Victoria. He's not sure it would help. Suddenly, Mac says it looks like he's going to find out - Victoria is standing in the doorway! Mac excuses herself, and JT asks if Vikki would like to go home to talk. She says it doesn't matter - she's going to Dubai and taking Reed with her. JT begins to tell her she's not, but Tucker calls and interrupts. Victoria storms out!

Adam comes back into Nick's office and asks if his family therapy with Victoria is all over. He wants to know what Nick thought of his ideas on the file. Nick says he agreed with most of them. Adam goads Nick, telling him he has wound up everywhere that Nick didn't want him to be - the ranch, and with Sharon, and soon he'll be in his chair at Newman too!

Next on The Young and the Restless:

Phyllis tells Deacon he'll get the phone when he tells her that Amber is out of town!

Michael and Lauren receive a bottle of champagne at their table in the Club - from someone who wishes to remain anonymous!

Ryder says to Daisy, "Just so you know, I'm pretty sure she's in Genoa City."

JOE Leiberman!!! The Most Evil Man in America!!!!!

Joe Lieberman wants to deny a 55 year old woman the right to buy into medicare at age 55. Allowing her to proceed into potential financial ruin.
If She was able to buy in at 55, she would not have to worry about paying ridiculously high medical bills if something horrible were to happen to her between the age of 55-65, when medicare kicks in.
This guy has a god like personality!
Totally outrageous!
Some one should punch the asshole out! Interesting fact- Joe lives in a state that is home to many insurance companies. Joe's vote was bought and paid for by the big insurance companies.
This guy is a traitor to all Americans who are struggling to pay for health insurance.
SHAME on you Joe! What Joe has done is the most horrific act of treason on the American public in decades. He should live in hell for eternity.

Billy Abbott Needs To Change?

I am trying to figure out why the writers think Billy needs to change his ways. Telling the truth in Restless Style is a bad thing to do? Shouldn't it be Victor who has the Christmas epiphany? I mean he did kill Colleen indirectly. Billy only loved Colleen and is morning her death. Wouldn't Victor go after the person who killed Victoria in an even worse manner. Look at what happened to Walter Palin. The town is coming down on Billy like they are Newman Robots.
So
Victoria slept with Deacon and Billy let the world know. How evil can one person be? Spreading truths like that!
So Billy ends up in a car accident and realizes he should change and embrace the Y&R god Victor Newman? "Has he signed over his donor card" asks Victoria in the hospital.
"Daddy could use a new liver for Christmas!"
I think it would be more appropriate for Colleen's ghost to visit Victor and ask him to change.

It seems the writers write the big stars into the corner and then have the smaller names take the blame for the big stars actions.
Then they simply have the big star say something remorseful... "like I didn't mean for Colleen to die... it just happened.... if you don't get over it Billy we are going to pee on your head all day because Victor was remorseful and that is what MATTERS.. Not your feelings buster!"...
"How is Victor supposed to embark on another scheme if you won't forgive him for the last one.... you idiot!" says's  the town script.
I hate it when the script is so one- sided... Meaning everyone in town is programmed to act like Billy's actions were incredulous.....almost like Robots repeating the same lines.
Victor's actions were incredulous and really actions of a sociopath,  but there is no uproar about changing Victor. He was forgiven by EVERYONE on this show! Then went off to Belgium with his new puppy Herz to plan another attack on his ticker's DNA. I have to go to Macy's now.

Blending Red's Reasons In My Cup

Mr. Brook's coffee is a blend of many different beans this morning. Much like Red's re-emerging split personalities. I slept in and it is 10 thirty already. But now that I am awake it is time for Y&R talk.
How could Phyllis make a deal with Deacon, has she learned nothing at all about integrity? Making a deal with the man that framed her son is a bad idea, when Danny finds out he will cut ties with Red. Spending time in jail for blackmailing Brad wasn't enough to teach Phyllis to stay above it all.
Not that this attempt to get Amber out of Danny's life is all that illegal, but maybe it is, if Red is keeping evidence from Heather. Wow! Red has jumped into this one without thinking about the consequences, she must have regressed. But why? She was doing really good. Is her hatred for Amber replacing her hatred for Sharon? This "opportunity" to get Amber out of Danny's life is vintage Phyllis, a good vintage, one that tastes good to the viewers. So, I think the writers are on the right track. Bringing out the true Red is sure to get more viewers to watch Y&R.

Daisy, in a weird way is beggining to grow on me. She seems to be a good actress now that she has more than just two words and a corner to stand in. Yesterday she had a few more lines and I liked all of them. Even Eden has grown on me. Maybe this story will begin to take shape sooner rather than later. It has really dragged for on aimlessly months!

Adam Fan

I am loving the Adam and Sharon relationship. This guy works well with all the actors on Y&R. I know Adam is a scum bag for what he has done, But I love this character. I don't know what that says about me? Sharon comes alive with Adam. Sharon is jaunty and carefree, her life actually seems better with Adam in it.
Adam is one bad seed, but the audience has taken this seed and nourished it. We should be hating Adam, but I must say he is the best thing on the show right now. Maybe the pin boy Nick scenes are like watching a bowling for Sharon show, but Adam is a fine actor. The show is much better with this guy. I truly believe Sharon is more interesting with Adam than with Nick, maybe they can hold off for a year or two with Faith's paternity being revealed. Having this vulture with the saintly, yet slutty Sharon is really great if you ask Mr. Brook's.

Oh no! here comes Ryder looking for Shelia on the patio. He is creepier than Adam. Maybe they should call this place Creepy Lights.

Monday's With Shelia

Mr. Brook's coffee this morning is pecan praline. The patio is quite this morning except for Shelia, who is having a latte at the corner table. She must know everyone in town is at the landfill on a wild gym bag chase.
Having Shelia back in town, means I will have to watch my back, just like the rest of Genoa City this coming year. The blond wig and dark sunglasses look pretty good on Shelia. Uh-OH! Here she comes! I will try not to look.

"Sir, Have you seen this woman?"
I slowly raise my head.
Yeah, that is Patty Williams or Dr. Peterson. Take your pick.
"Are you trying to be funny"
ME!
NO!
"I was referring to Dr. Peterson"
Excellent Doctor, I see her myself for my soap opera disorder...commonly know as SOD.
I think she lives at the GCAC which is just around....
"I know where the GCAC is you idiot!"
"Are you making a pass at me?"
No, I just sweat in winter like a pig in heat, sorry.
Shelia then whips out a cell phone and orders a New Years Eve party gown from Fenmores.
My soap opera disorder is kicking in the mid section of my cerebral cortex.

Having a big News Year party are we, ma'am? I say in a SOD voice.
Shelia pulls up a chair and looks over the top of my laptop.
"Are you a journalist here in Genoa City?" Yes, I am the owner of the Genoa City News.
Have you read it?
"Yes, So you are Mr. Brook's, the one they call Genoa City's anal visionary."
Shelia laughs with a roar that is so scary, I pee just a little into my under wear.
My spine is now frozen as Shelia reaches into her purse. She pulls out a treat! Bourbon! Shelia pours a shot into my praline pecan coffee as my vital signs return to normal. Here's to a new year in Genoa City may all our wishes come true Mr. Brook's.
We toast!

Genoa City's Waste Management

The writers took the murder mystery to an appropriate place at least... the garbage dump. I think someone should run for mayor, because the GC dump is not disposing of trash in an appropriate manner. Trash should be buried under 3 feet of dirt after it is sprayed with deordorizing chemicals and covered with a thick plastic.
That scene looks like an episode of the Hoarders.
Why not end this story? No one likes it.
Kay's lymes must be acting up again if we are to believe she would ever step foot into a dump for Danny R.

Houston elects first openly gay mayor

December 13, 2009 3:00 p.m. EST
Houston Mayor-elect Annise Parker ran for mayor on a platform of fiscal conservatism.
Houston Mayor-elect Annise Parker ran for mayor on a platform of fiscal conservatism.
STORY HIGHLIGHTS
  • Annise Parker elected mayor of Houston, becomes first lesbian to lead a major U.S. city
  • Parker, who served five years as city controller, won with nearly 54 percent of vote
  • Conservatives, anti-gay activists had launched intense campaign against Parker
RELATED TOPICS
Houston, Texas (CNN) -- Annise Parker made history Saturday as Houston's first openly gay mayor.
Parker, who served five years as city controller, beat former city attorney Gene Locke with 53.6 percent of the vote in a runoff election.
Both are Democrats who faced off for the second time because neither emerged with more than 50 percent of the vote in the November 3 election.
Parker's election also makes her the second woman to become mayor of Houston. Other cities such as Providence, Rhode Island, and Portland, Oregon, have picked openly gay mayors. Houston is the fourth-largest U.S. city.
Parker's victory is also remarkable because a few years ago, Houston rejected a referendum to offer benefits to same-sex partners of city workers. Also, the city sits in a state where gay marriage is against the law.
"Houston is a multiracial, multicultural, international city. And I think my election will send a message to the world that Houston is a city that might surprise a lot of folks," Parker said before the runoff.
Parker, 53, has never shied away from, nor made an issue of, her sexual orientation. She has been with her partner for 19 years and they have two adopted children.
She was elected to the city council and then spent the past five years as city controller. She ran for mayor on a platform of fiscal conservatism.
"I have always stood up for the fact that I am gay. It's part of the resume that I bring to the table, but it's just a piece of the package," she said.
After the mayoral race entered a runoff, conservatives and anti-gay activists mounted an intense campaign against Parker. Houston residents received flyers in the mail that highlighted Parker's support from gay groups and her relationship with her partner.
"There's a certain segment of Houston, there's a certain segment of society that has problems with the issues around sexual orientation," Parker said. "But the citizens of Houston have elected me six consecutive times to public office. They know me, they trust me.
"I think it's a small and shrinking minority of Houstonians who have that attitude and I look forward to it as being mayor of all of Houston," she said.
Turnout was light Saturday. Only 16.4 percent of the eligible voters cast ballots, according to the results from Harris County, Texas, where Houston is located. Locke received 46.4 percent of the vote.
Parker will take office in January, replacing Bill White who could not run because of term limits.

Tucker's Daughter Daisy... Was Stolen by Shelia?

Mr. Brook's has a theory that maybe Tucker's daughter was stolen by Shelia. Daisy could be his daughter and of course most people think Tucker is Katherine's son at this point. Tucker could be Cane's dad or even Ryder's father.
One problem Y&R has is we all know the possibilites, so it may be better for the writers to just make some decisions on who is related to whom. These mysteries are not doing much, but causing Paul to become rich. I think he needs to hire another guy now that JT mainly hangs and bitches about Victoria all day.
Shelia must have stolen Daisy or she could be the daughter she had with Massimo, but really? That kid was born in 2002-03 and having her now be 17 is really out there, but as Y&R loses its reputation as being a realistic show.... this could happen.
I think the writers look more at ratings than anything else. You can't blame them, but the audience will continue to flee if the show becomes a carnival.

Red Tucker Mack Baby!

Phylliss has some nerve asking Paul to help her! This is the same guy she mowed down with her Saab and left for dead. If only Paul knew that! He probably wouldn't want to help her with her sons latest murder wrap. Why hasn't Paul ever delved deep into that incident in his spare time?
You would think Paul would want to clear up his own life's mystery.
This gives us hope for Adam. If Red can never be found out for her attempted murder of Paul and Cricket, then why should Adam be discovered to be the Faith baby switcher? I blame Ashley anyway, her fragile state is like that light clapper. Mental illness isn't so easily turned on and off.
Tucker makes his debut today. It is nice to have a man on the show. Most of the men on Y&R seem a little too wimpy. Slaves toys to the women mostly. Women acquire the men and then once in their control they become confused zombies, who can't seem to make a decision. Watch out Chance you are next! That character is a mindless zombie already though. I think Esther spikes his cereal with DUH pills. He looks good on TV, but is a big BLANK in the personality department. Maybe he should just stick to under wear modeling. At least Cane-ed meat has emotional outbursts every now and then.

Mack is pregnant with the baby of the year, that will soon be blanketed and sent into deep sleep like Delia. The conflict is so manufactured Chloe has trouble hiding the made in china label from the viewers. For this storyline to succeed it is going to take a pound of viewer flesh. I do not think we are going to give up on bitching about this storyline.

The World Stopped Turning Years Ago

As The World Turns has been given the ax on CBS. I don't know how I feel about this because I stopped watching that show years ago. Which is probably the reason the show has been cancelled. We all stopped watching. Not because we hated the show. I swear it was The Stenbeck story and that Barbara woman.

The whole Barbara obssesion thing I never got and after reincarnating James over and over again. At one point Barbara was just as evil as James for some reason.
Right?
Anyway...That is not a soap opera, it is a carnival. Once a soap brings a character back more than three times from the dead. Something just ain't write in the creative department. James was evil and I never watched when he was on!
Then the Hughes Family aged and died, but then the odd ball children grew! Like weeds! Isn't Parker, who was born in 2001, now 20. I never attached to him. The children are more like disposable paper plates than children.

So, SO- raising the kids is another big mistake soaps make. We can't identify with a character who skipped the years 6-16. That is not an earthly act. It is weird and creates a disassociative disorder with the viewers. One reason we liked Cassie was because Cassie was always Cassie.
An hour of watching Craig is an hour of your life waisted. How did he become the lead? How many Craig's have there been. Why not just put a mask with the name Craig on and call it a beloved character? Who has affection for Craig? Wasn't that lost when the second Craig left?
I admire the gay breakthrough and the actors abilities, but the show passed its highs many years ago.
Oakdale needs to be replaced with the Real Housewives of Plano. Where children age one year at a time. Time has passed Oakdale up and daytime reality programming is coming.

Young people have their Blackberry to spend hours on now.
Watching a soap is an investment of your time, and there are many more things competing for our time than there was 10 years ago.

Daytime Web Cam Reality Shows

My idea for the "New Daytime in America" is Web Cam reality shows that feature real people in real time. Stay at home moms in different locations hooked up together by web cams as they go about the day.
This is really more interesting than watching a presumed dead Shelia chase Lauren Fenmore around with rats.
I would rather watch a mom wonder how to pay the house payment or yell at her dead beat husband than watch Ryder call mom! I find Judge Judy to be more exciting to watch. Those people are dramatic and you never know what is going to come out of their mouths.
The soap writers have plum ran out of new ideas.

Y&R seems to revolve around Restless Style articles. Gossip and internet rumors. The cast is more interested in what we are saying about them on twitter. That is obvious by the constant twitter updates and Restless Stylish exposes on the characters. We are now as much a part of Y&R as the characters.

How Could Sharon!

Possible spend her days sitting on that purple and green stripped sofa all day.
Brad's old sofa must be in need of a good cleaning after all it has been in that room for 23 years. Abby use to spit up on it when she was little and it has out lived both of the Carlton's.
Ashley made her cancer video to Abby there when she thought she was going to die.
I would think that Sharon would want to get rid of it.
The indoor /outdoor material doesn't show well in HD.
Maybe buy one a bit more feminine?
A little less "patio" styled?
It looks itchy in HD!

After watching the video above I would bet that Y&R is not going to be on the air five years from now.  "Soaps are over" .... that comes from the head of CBS.
Is it the end of an era? Sort of. Only the special soaps are going to survive. It’s certainly the end of the client-owned soap. All good things come to an end, whether it’s after 72 years or 54 years or 10 years. It’s a different time and a different business.
My guess is that Y&R may survive for a while, but if the ratings go down Sony may take it to a cheaper cable channel like Soapnet.
Sony must be the "client" and Y&R is the soap. It all rides on Y&R because One Life To Live is going to be next.
